Hudson Lester – Student

In 2006, Chicago Cubs pitcher Jon Lester was diagnosed with anaplastic large cell lymphoma, a rare but treatable cancer of the lymph nodes. He met his wife Farrah when he was receiving treatment in 2007 and the two wed in 2009. Hudson’s birth in 2010 inspired Jon to found NVRQT, which raises awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research. Through his foundation, Lester is making a nationwide effort to host local games in honor of children who have been stricken with the illness.
