Many people patiently wait for December 25 before opening presents, but not the royals! Being of German descent, they have that nation’s habit of opening gifts on Christmas Eve. It’s done as Prince Philip and the Queen finish up the decoration for the huge Christmas tree. Darren McGrady, a retired royal chef, explained to the Express that the family opens up Christmas gifts after tea in the afternoon. Of course, the kids in the family such as Princess Charlotte and Prince George, who can hardly wait to see what they’ve gotten, think this is a wonderful habit.
