What: Pokémon is an ultra-successful franchise, and this is only the first time someone tries to make a blockbuster film out of it. The video-game based fantasy-comedy will combine animation and live action, and will focus on Detective Pikachu (Reynolds), an extremely clever Pokémon, who is able to talk. After the huge success of the Deadpool movies, Reynolds seems likely to produce another box-office smash with Detective Pikachu. Director Rob Letterman is known mostly for his animated films Shark Tale and Monsters vs. Aliens.
