A Scarred Childhood

Diana didn’t exactly have what you can call a perfect childhood because, in 1969, it was marred by a rather unexpected event. At the age of eight, her parents’ relationship started to falter following an affair maintained by her mother, which eventually led to a publicized divorce. Her father, the 8th Earl of Spencer, fought for the legal custody of her and her siblings and ended up winning the battle. Years later, Spencer found himself marrying again for the second time.
