Janet Leigh – Psycho – Deceased – 77 Years Old – Heart Attack

Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho gave Leigh her best-known role, as murder victim Marion Crane. It’s reported she was so traumatized by filming the shower murder scene and those movie props, she avoided showers for the rest of her life. Her character’s death early in the film is seen as historically relevant by film scholars since it broke the conventions of story-telling at the time. And critics and film scholars call the murder scene one of the most iconic scenes in film history. For her performance, Leigh received a Golden Globe Award.
