The Gown Fabric

Meghan’s wedding dress was a Givenchy, designed by Clare Waight Keller. It is a ‘60s style A-line with a boat-neck and minimalist look, complete with double-bonded silk to give a“round sculptured look” and a “soft matt luster.” The ‘clean’ design of the dress made it difficult to achieve as there are no details, lace or buttons to cover up any mistakes. Kate’s dress was very different from Meghan’s, made completely from French Chantilly lace and English Cluny lace through the entire skirt, bodice, and even the underskirt.
