Jeanne Cooper – Katherine Chancellor

Jeanne Cooper had one of the longest careers on The Young and the Restless, playing town matriarch Katherine Chancellor from 1973 until her death in 2013. Head of Chancellor Industries, Katherine was as well known for her chaotic feud with Jill Abbott as for her bottomless bank account. Before starting on Y & R, Cooper appeared on popular television shows of the ’50s and ’60s, including Perry Mason, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and even The Twilight Zone. She also starred in pulpy B-movies of the era like Five Steps to Danger and Unwed Mother. Jeanne Cooper’s son, Corbin Bernsen, is also an actor, best known for his role on L.A. Law.
