Christmas Decorations are Left to Mark February 6th

Queen Elizabeth II has her Buckingham Palace and Sandringham Estate both decorated traditionally. After people are done with celebrating Christmas, seeing their relatives and family, and Holiday shopping, most of them take down their Christmas decorations on the 5th or 6th of January the following year. However, the Queen keeps the Sandringham home decorated until February 6th and spends private time there each year to mark her father’s death. Her father, King George VI, died of coronary thrombosis at the age of 56 on February 6, 1952, at the very same Sandringham House.
