The Queen Goes Home by Train

The Queen has another interesting tradition tied to the Christmas celebration at her Sandringham Estate. A few days prior to Christmas Eve, Queen Elizabeth II will travel there by means of public transportation. She reserves an entire train car for her party and travels there usually between December 17th and 20th. She does this to personally oversee the preparations for the dinner. The ticket ride on the train costs about $83 (£54.90). The rest of the family invited will arrive on Christmas Eve, with the Queen undoubtedly having everything up to snuff by then.
