English stage-turned-Hollywood-film-actor, Cary Grant, became an American citizen in 1942. He was known for his transatlantic accent, chivalrous demeanor, and handsome looks. Grant was one of classic Hollywood’s outstanding leading men; so much so that the American Film Institute named him the second Greatest Male Star of All Time. He had a good salary, and was known for playing dramatic and comedic parts, and did four Hitchcock films: Notorious, To Catch A Thief, North by Northwest – playing an ad executive mistaken as a spy, and Suspicion.
