Leo G. Carroll – Rebecca – Deceased – 85 Years Old – Pneumonia

Leo Gratten Carroll was an English actor who eventually made his way to the U.S. Hitchcock loved him. Carroll was a method actor and a prominent member of Hollywood’s British colony, so Hitchcock had noticed him. Carroll was best known for his roles in six Hitchcock films showing from 1940 to 1959. These include Rebecca, Suspicion, Spellbound, The Paradine Case, Strangers on a Train, and North by Northwest. He was also known for the television series, Going My Way, Topper, and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. The actor died of cancer-induced pneumonia in 1972.
