Young boys wear pants all the time
One of the oddest royal family rules is that boys need to wear shorts all the time (even if it’s freezing cold). George appeared in pants for the very first time at Harry & Meghan’s wedding. Whenever the youngster makes an appearance, his images are immediately published around the world; he’s probably the most famous four-year-old in the world.
It’s considered a very English tradition to dress young boys in shorts. Trousers are considered more suitable for men, shorts on young boys is a kind of a class marker. A young kid wearing trousers is associated with the middle class. No royal would want to be considered middle class.
