Has the Royal Shoot Become a Symbolic Ceremony?
Come Boxing Day, the day after Christmas, the family’s tradition was to go hunting pheasants. But many of the family’s members have changed their viewpoint on this, it seems. Even Meghan Markle stated in an interview in 2017 that the Boxing Day traditional shoot was going to be a tricky issue. It seemed she managed to encourage Prince Harry to change his mind and oppose this tradition for he has skipped it after their engagement. Prince William is also a strong advocate for animals. So, possibly the Royal shoot has become a symbolic ceremony where the family simply does a walkabout on the Sandringham Estate.
