Anny Ondra – Blackmail – Deceased – 84 Years Old – Stroke

Anny Ondra was a mixed-European singer and a film and stage actress. As a child, she lived in Prague, where her father was a colonel in the Austro-Hungarian Army. She was actually the first to satisfy Alfred Hitchcock’s love of casting actresses with blonde hair. She acted in his 1921 movie, Blackmail, both England’s and Hitchcock’s first talking film. Hitchcock also made a silent version of the movie since some theaters could show talkie movies. Ondra retired from the industry in 1957 and lived in Germany with her husband.
