Actress Sara Ellen Allgood was born in Ireland and was a part of the opening of the Irish National Theatre Society. She had her first big acting role in 1904 in Spreading the News. This led to her becoming a full-time actress in 1905. In 1915, she toured New Zealand and Australia in Peg o’ My Heart as the lead. Her career continued in London, Dublin, and also on tour, which included the USA. She was also in several full movies. In 1940, Allgood moved to Hollywood to live there.
